The Estate
Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini cultivates six hectares of vineyards, primarily in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, with additional parcels in Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. We apply the principles of organic and biodynamic viticulture in our daily practices, particularly to help our vines adapt to the challenges of climate change.
Living Soils
Since 2019, we have adopted the practice of cover cropping and grassing in our parcels. We sow a variety of species between the rows, such as cereals, fava beans, and cruciferous plants. This method enhances potassium availability in the soil while also helping us achieve an optimal carbon footprint.
Humility and Common Sense
The vitality of our soils is a central concern, often discussed with fellow winegrowers. Staying connected with the vines is essential; it allows us to listen, sharpen our observations, and continuously assess and refine our practices with a critical eye. Our goal is to ensure the vines' well-being, enabling them to offer their best and produce grapes that embody the essence of our wines. We must remain humble before Mother Nature, applying common sense in response to varying vintages and climatic challenges. This approach enables us to engage freely while embracing the mindset of eternal beginners.
